VERO BEACH — The Environmental Learning Center is launching a new community event with free outdoor movie nights, starting with a double feature of “The Little Mermaid” on Nov. 21 and 22.
The family-friendly gatherings will turn the center’s 64-acre campus along the Indian River Lagoon into an open-air cinema. Attendees can enjoy food trucks, games, popcorn and s’mores for sale, and access to a playscape. A touch tank exhibit will be open from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., with admission required for non-members before 5 p.m.
On Friday, Nov. 21, the event kicks off with the 1989 animated classic. Saturday, Nov. 22, follows with the 2023 live-action remake. Both screenings are free and open to the public after 5 p.m., with no reservations needed.
Guests should bring camp chairs, blankets and picnic baskets. Personal beverages are allowed, but the campus remains pet-free and smoke-free.
The Environmental Learning Center, a nonprofit nature center, focuses on education and environmental stewardship. For more details, call 772-589-5050.
