The Barefoot Bay Community is celebrating 50 years down memory lane with a day of fun activities on Saturday, July 3, 2021, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and concluding with fireworks at 9:00 p.m.
Activities Line-Up
8:30 a.m. – Golf Tournament: 18 Hole Scramble, Limited to 72 Players, Create your teams, BB Golf Course Trivia Contest, Commemorative BB Golf Cap. Lunch following play-under the oaks at Pool 1. The First 24 to sign-up, receive a special prize. Sign-up deadline June 30th. Prices – $21.50 per member & 36.50 per non-member. Sign up in the BFB Pro Shop.
9:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. – Demonstrations Club members will be available to demonstrate shuffleboard, tennis, pickleball, horseshoes, softball, and bocci at Building A. There will also be golf demonstrations at the BBRD golf course 9:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m.
9:00 a.m. – Miniature Golf Miniature Golf will be open throughout the day for kids and the young at heart for ages 5 – 95 to learn how to play on the fastest greens in Barefoot Bay. There will be real golfers there to play with, learn from, and beat. There will be $5 gift certificates for various challenges that will be promoted all day long.
11:00 a.m. – Golf Cart & Bicycle Parade (Line up at the field behind the shopping plaza behind RJ’s at 10:00 a.m.) The Parade will go down the boulevard and Veteran’s Way to Building A. There will be prizes for the most patriotic cart & “fun”tastic decorated bicycle.
11:00 a.m. – Club Reception, Barefoot Bay Memorabilia, Crafts & Art – Building A will be open with Club reception, Barefoot Bay Memorabilia, Crafts & Art.
11:00 a.m. – Bars & Food Open
1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Gilly & The Girl at Lakeside Stage
2:00 p.m. – Barefoot Bay Historians Ceremony & 50th Anniversary Cake Cutting Lakeside
5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. – Showtime Entertainment Lakeside Stage

Barefoot Bay
Barefoot Bay is Florida’s largest manufactured home community. It is an unincorporated, deed-restricted manufactured home community and recreation district.
History
Mr. and Mrs. John Agoo were the first residents to move into Barefoot Bay on September 23, 1970. They moved onto Eagle Drive, in the Birds of Prey section. Then, in 1971 the community opened its Polynesian-style clubhouse, community, and recreation center; it is now known as Building A.
50 years ago this year, in 1971, 67 families were living in Barefoot Bay. According to the 2010 census, there were 9,808 people living in the Bay.
Barefoot Bay is a beautiful community to live in with great people, lots of activities, and a very low crime rate.
