The Richard Phillips Down Biker Fund (RPDBF) will host its 6th Annual Butterfly Release Memorial at Earl’s Hideaway Lounge on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 2:00 pm, with the release scheduled for 4:00 pm.
The event will raise money to assist motorcyclists in Indian River and Brevard Counties who have been impacted by a severe accident. This event is a beautiful way to remember lost riders and contribute to a worthy cause.
The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization was founded in April 2017 by Robin Phillips, who created it in memory of her husband, Richard, who died after a driver crossed a median and hit him on October 15, 2012, while they were out riding with friends. They are dedicated to providing financial aid to motorcyclists facing hardship after severe accidents, offering vital support during challenging times.
Making a Difference in Our Community
So far in 2025, the Down Bikers Fund has distributed 98 checks of $500 each to riders and families impacted by motorcycle accidents. Eligibility requires at least a 24-hour hospitalization or a fatality.
