VERO BEACH – On Monday at approximately 5:55 p.m., a possible drowning was reported in the 1400 block of 48th Avenue involving a 2-year-old child in Vero Beach, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
When the paramedics arrived, the child was not breathing. They performed CPR and transported the 2-year-old to Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
“The child was transported to IRMC and pronounced deceased,” IRC Sheriff’s spokesman Major Eric Flowers told Sebastian Daily.
The investigation is still ongoing with more information available on Tuesday, Flowers said.
