SEBASTIAN — A gated community in Sebastian will limit its Halloween trick-or-treating to homeowners, residents, and invited guests this year, citing concerns about liability.
The Sebastian River Landing Community’s board of directors voted in August to implement the restrictions, according to a community announcement. The decision was made following guidance from legal counsel and the community’s management company.
Police officers will staff both community gates on Oct. 31 to enforce the policy. Visitors without Sebastian River Landing identification will be denied entry.
Community officials did not provide additional details on the liability issues prompting the change.
