SEBASTIAN — If you’ve driven past the River Deck in Sebastian lately, you’ve probably noticed the big sign is gone. The sign was taken down this week to make way for a full rebrand of the waterfront spot.
The original Squid Lips, just steps away, isn’t changing at all. Only the River Deck side is getting a new name and a fresh look.
The new name will be “Redfish Saloon.” Developer and operator Buzz Underhill confirmed the switch on Friday with Sebastian Daily, saying a soft opening is set for Monday at 3 p.m.
Underhill said the name is a playful reference to the redfish that swim right in the Indian River Lagoon.
The restaurant is located at 1670 Indian River Drive. Underhill said the team has been working behind the scenes on the menu and atmosphere, but they’re keeping most of the details under wraps until the soft opening.
Underhill did give us a sample of a new jambalaya dish that will be on the new menu, and it’s out of this world. The soft opening on Monday will give customers the first chance to see — and taste — what’s new.
