ORLANDO — Streaming service Peacock has delayed the premiere of its docuseries on Universal theme parks for the second time, pushing the debut to Nov. 17 amid anticipation from fans eager for a behind-the-scenes look at the attractions.
The three-part series, “Epic Ride: The Story of Universal Theme Parks,” was initially set to launch in July before being rescheduled to Sept. 29. Peacock did not provide a reason for the latest postponement in its announcement.
The docuseries promises an in-depth exploration of Universal’s theme park history, including exclusive footage from the newly opened Universal Epic Universe in Orlando. It features interviews with filmmakers, executives and celebrities involved in shaping the parks’ immersive worlds.
Universal Epic Universe, the fourth gate at Universal Orlando Resort, has drawn massive crowds with its themed lands inspired by popular franchises like Super Nintendo World and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Peacock, owned by NBCUniversal, has been ramping up original content tied to its parent company’s properties, but scheduling shifts have become common in the competitive streaming landscape.
No immediate comment was available from Peacock representatives on the delay.
