VERO BEACH — Breeze Airways is expanding its footprint at Vero Beach Regional Airport with a new nonstop route to Raleigh, North Carolina, set to launch next spring.
The low-cost carrier will begin flights between Vero Beach and Raleigh-Durham International Airport on May 6, operating twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays, according to the airline’s website. The service is seasonal and will run only through the summer months, Breeze spokesperson Ryne Williams said.
Outbound flights are slated to leave Vero Beach at 1:19 p.m. and touch down in Raleigh at 3:14 p.m. Return legs will depart Raleigh at 8:46 p.m., arriving back in Vero Beach at 10:41 p.m.
The addition brings Breeze’s direct passenger routes from Vero Beach to eight, with a ninth overall including a connection. Other destinations served by Breeze from the airport include:
- Hartford, Connecticut
- Islip, New York
- Newburgh, New York
- New Haven, Connecticut
- Ogdensburg, New York (with a layover in Washington, D.C.)
- Providence, Rhode Island
- Washington, D.C.
- White Plains, New York
The new Raleigh link comes amid growing air service at the small Florida airport, which has seen a surge in carriers eyeing the Treasure Coast market.
JetBlue Airways is poised to kick off daily year-round flights from Vero Beach to Boston Logan International Airport and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport starting Dec. 11. The airline, which announced the routes earlier this year, marks its debut in Vero Beach.
American Airlines will follow suit on Feb. 12, 2026, with daily nonstop service to its hub in Charlotte, North Carolina. The flights will operate year-round, providing connections to American’s broader network.
Airport officials have touted the expansions as a boon for local travelers, offering more options without the drive to larger hubs like Orlando or Palm Beach.
Breeze, founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman, focuses on underserved markets with affordable fares on Airbus A220 jets. The Raleigh route is part of a broader push by the airline, which also recently unveiled new summer services from the North Carolina city to other destinations like Bangor, Maine, and New York’s Stewart International Airport.
Fares for the Vero Beach-Raleigh flights start as low as $49 one-way, though prices vary by date and demand, per Breeze’s site.
