VERO BEACH — Authorities searched a JetBlue flight bound for Vero Beach Regional Airport on Saturday after a bomb threat was reported by Boston law enforcement, but no explosives were found, and the plane was cleared for passengers to disembark.
The incident occurred on March 14, 2026, when the Vero Beach Police Department was alerted about a threat against the flight departing from Boston Logan International Airport.
The aircraft landed safely and was held stationary north of the terminal while a multi-agency response team assembled.
Vero Beach police called in support from the FBI, the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office bomb detection unit, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, Indian River County Fire Rescue and the city’s airport operations staff. A specially trained bomb-sniffing dog first inspected the cabin interior with passengers still aboard.
Luggage was then unloaded from the plane and subjected to a separate canine search on the tarmac. Once the sweeps turned up nothing suspicious, the aircraft was deemed safe and taxied to the terminal gate, allowing travelers to exit without further incident.
No arrests were made, and officials provided no details on the source of the threat or any potential suspects. The investigation remains active, with federal and local agencies coordinating efforts.
Airport operations returned to normal shortly after the all-clear, though passengers on the affected flight faced delays in retrieving their belongings.
