VERO BEACH — The boat ramp at Round Island Riverside Park is set to close starting Tuesday, Feb. 3, for repairs that could last three to four weeks, county officials announced.
The work will focus on fixing the dock and nearby walkways to keep the area safe for locals and tourists using the Indian River Lagoon.
“These improvements are necessary to ensure the continued safety of residents and visitors,” said Steve Barako, the parks superintendent for Indian River County.
Barako added that repairing and replacing parts of the dock is key to providing reliable access to the lagoon and maintaining high-quality park facilities.
While the ramp is shut down, the rest of Round Island Riverside Park will stay open, along with the neighboring Round Island Oceanside Park.
Boaters looking for other options can head to the Oslo Boat Ramp at 9th Street SE in Vero Beach or the Wabasso Causeway Boat Ramp at 3105 Wabasso Bridge Road, also in Vero Beach.
