SEBASTIAN – The Sebastian River Middle School Choral Program has started a new Holiday Tradition for this 2018 Holiday Season.

The SRMS Madrigal Singers, the school’s top auditioned ensemble, hosted a series of two Dinner Concerts this past Thursday and Friday, December 6th and 7th at Westminster Presbyterian Church to sold-out crowds.

Proceeds are to help benefit the students in their annual Spring Competition/College trip, which alternates between in state and out of state each year.

This year’s in-state trip will feature stops in Miami, the Everglades, Ft. Myers, and Tampa. Previous trips have included Atlanta, GA, Charleston, SC and Charlotte, NC. Next school year’s out of state Spring 2020 Trip has not yet been announced.

Food for the dinners was provided by local area restaurants, Marsh Landing, TJs Pizza, and Woody’s BBQ. Audience reception was tremendously positive, with standing ovations occurring multiple times during the concerts. Eighteen musical selections were performed from memory by the choir of 27 12 to 14-year-olds.

SRMS Choir would like to extend the warmest thank you to the community for its continued support, and a great showing at this event. Plans are already underway for the 2nd Annual Dinners which will be held in December 2019 (Dates TBD).

If you did not get a chance to attend one of the dinners but would like to support the Sebastian River Middle School Choir, please contact their director, Mr. Ethan Kinkle (7th year) at ethan.kinkle@indianriverschools.org.
