Sebastian River High School Surprises 2024 Valedictorian and Salutatorian 

Mia Harrell and Payton Dipietro

Sebastian River High School surprises their 2024 Class, Valedictorian Mia Harrell and Salutatorian Payton Dipietro. These exceptional seniors boast GPAs exceeding 4.6 and exhibit remarkable leadership abilities and much more. 

Valedictorian Mia Harrell is an IB Diploma Candidate with a 4.713 Weighted GPA. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy, Environmental Club, and Pickle Ball Club.

Additionally, she is the Vice President of her Senior Class, an AP Scholar, and an AP National Rural & Small Town Scholar who has earned her BACE certification (Biotech) and AG Certification in agriculture. She was a Florida Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Qualifier in economics in her junior year, and this year, she serves as Vice President.  

Mia is also an athlete who has been a Varsity Swimmer for 4 years, earning MVP in her freshman year and Unsung Hero in her sophomore year. She is a Blackbelt in Karate and instructs “Little Dragons” 5 & 6-year-olds. She has played Varsity Lacross for 4 years and was a surf Instructor (2020-2022). 

During her leisure time, she enjoys visiting the beach, hitting the gym, listening to music, painting, and cherishing moments with her family. After completing her education, Mia has aspirations to enroll at FSU and pursue a career as a doctor.

Salutatorian Payton Dipietro is an IB Diploma Candidate with an impressive 4.61 weighted GPA, securing the 2nd rank in his graduating class. His accolades include membership in the National Honor Society and the Interact Club. Furthermore, he has earned the title of AP Scholar and is a mentor in the Peer-to-Peer program at Fellsmere Elementary.

He has displayed remarkable athletic prowess as the Captain of the SRHS Cross Country team and a dedicated Varsity member of the Track Team for four years. In addition to his athletic achievements, his intellectual acumen and delightful sense of humor contribute significantly to enriching class discussions. Furthermore, his extensive knowledge of history consistently brings forth insightful and valuable points.

After graduation, Payton intends to further his studies in the field of biotechnology.
