SEBASTIAN – Theodore F. Steinmetz III, 74 passed away peacefully on May 12 at his home. Just a few hours removed from a fun dinner with his wife and friends listening to a band that played his favorite tune “Turn the Page” by Eric Clapton.

Ted is survived by his wife Suzanne, his daughter Heather, son in law John Elder of San Francisco, daughter Karly and son in law Michael Crowther of Palm City. Six grandchildren Dylan Casey, Brady, Ella, Addison, and Ryan.

Originally from Forest Hills New York, Ted graduated from Long Island University majoring in Business Management. He was a Captain in the Air Force, having served from 1965-1971 flying F4s in Korea during the Pueblo incident, before being honorable discharged.

Upon leaving the military, Ted worked for Cessna Aircraft, Polaroid and then became Vice President of Sales and Marketing for American Tourister. Ted and Suzanne spent a few years in Brentwood CA before settling in Sebastian, FL for the past 18 years.

In Sebastian, Ted founded Personal Touch Property Management Company. He is well remembered for his ability to connect with his customers and vendors alike. He will also be missed by his local library, bookie, many vineyards in Napa, CA. and everyone he came in contact within his life. He takes his larger-than-life personality to a better place, so let’s hope they’re ready for the fun to begin.

Ted’s life will be remembered with a Military service at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S. Fleming Street, Sebastian, Fl., on Thursday May 31 at 2:00 pm. Following there will be a celebration of Ted’s life at his home immediately following because Ted never wanted to miss a party.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Ft. Pierce Food Bank or the Veterans Hospitals.
