Cecil H. Catala Jr. was born at DePoo hospital and attended St. Mary’s Catholic school in Key West.
He briefly moved to South Carolina but returned to live in Key West until shortly after his mother’s passing, motivation for moving to Vero Beach, where he became a Tile installer for over 25 years.
Cecil was equally known for his grumpiness and kindness, giving stern opinions while doing whatever he could to help you. His voice was too loud, and his opinions mixed, but all were overshadowed by his giant open heart.
He will be immensely missed by those who knew him best for all of this.
Cecil became an animal advocate and would ask for contributions to be made to your favorite local animal shelter.
