SEBASTIAN (Letter to the Editor) – My name is Patty Giordano. I thought perhaps you might be interested in the incredible generosity of Local Scholarships awarded to Seniors at Sebastian River High School.
On Thursday, April 18, 2019, I attended the Annual Sebastian River High School Scholarship night. I sat for two hours listening to the generosity of all the local scholarships to help our youth achieve the dream of attending college.
I have triplets, two boys and a girl. The thought of having three kids in college at the same time has weighed heavily on my mind.
That night, our daughter Stephanie, was awarded 14 local scholarships totaling over $18,000. I can not express my generosity to these incredible people who spend the year fundraising to be able to offer money to students in our special town. I wanted to convey this incredible news as I am sure many people are not aware of what local businesses and organizations give back to the youth of Sebastian.
On a side note, in lieu of college, our son Johnny, an Eagle Scout Award recipient will be serving in the Marines.
