Misinformation

Dear Sebastian Daily:

Publishing an opinion piece is one thing but publishing a Letter to the Editor with blatantly false information a la Chris Kebbel is journalistic malpractice.

Ms. Kebbel “knows real science” when she sees it. Really? You publish this garbage by someone who has no valid credentials without flagging it as “misinformation”?

Her claims run counter to world-renowned infectious disease experts and scientists.

Obviously, Ms. Kebbel is oblivious to the morbidity that is way more prevalent than just mortality numbers, which is bad enough. He’s so lucky not to be a victim of such, and maybe she doesn’t know (or is blind to) someone who has experienced short and long term sequelae of Covid.

That “opinion” is just that; it should not have been published and at the very least should have been flagged as disputed information, conspiracy theory, and counter to well established public health norms.
