Letters to the Editor for May 31, 2020.
It is with great appreciation I write this letter on behalf of our employees and our business.
Since March 18, 2020, we have only been allowed to sell our products to go. We had to lay off our staff that day for them to hopefully receive government assistance. They are eager to get back to work and serve everyone our quality beer.
The employees, myself and partner in business, have greatly missed seeing people enjoy them self and the beer while being here like they normally would. Now we have a chance to do that on weekends and it is all because of the hard work, dedication, sincerity of our Sebastian city employees!
The city staff wants to help businesses! We are a perfect example of the that.
Dorri Bosworth and her staff at community development helped us legally find the way to open. Her efforts in contacting the appropriate authorities in regards to having food trucks on site was in my opinion, above and beyond! Recommending the appropriate permit. Constant communication in regards to what we can and can not do. Enthusiasm to do so Is deserving of employee of the year. Her efforts shine clear that she gets out of bed every work day to help the residents and businesses of this city because she really does care!
City manager Paul Carlisle for making sure that the permit was following the city code while being in accordance with DBPR, CDC and county recommendations. In regards to outside seating, spacing / social distancing, time of operation with food trucks and not interfering with parking or traffic.
City attorney Manny Anon for doing is due diligence to check that everything was in the legal parameters with the above mentioned authorities. Being them state, county or local municipality.
Mayor Ed Dodd for caring so much about local businesses to follow up after the employees did their thank less jobs!
We feel the public should know that without the collaborative efforts by the city employees our business may not have survived. All because of a pandemic that was no one persons fault. These people care about the community more than most people know. It shows exponentially through their actions daily.
So be kind and thank them more often!
