The Sebastian River Medical Center tells Sebastian Daily that the hospital has re-opened Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.

“We continue to monitor the path and potential impacts of Hurricane Dorian on eastern Florida. After careful consideration, we have determined that it is safe to re-open Sebastian River Medical Center tonight, September 3rd, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.,” the hospital said in a statement.

At that time, Sebastian River Medical Center is now fully operational, including the Emergency Department which has remained open throughout the storm to serve patients requiring emergency care.

Patients who were transferred on Monday to other facilities will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and will either remain at the current facility or be transferred back to Sebastian River Medical Center for continuation of care.

“The safety and well-being of our patients and staff will always be our highest priority,” said Kyle Sanders, President of Sebastian River Medical Center.

“We are proud of how our hospital family and our community prepared for this storm, and we are grateful to our local EMS community and area hospitals that supported Sebastian River Medical Center throughout Hurricane Dorian,” Sanders added.
