Sebastian Daily Staff Members Contract COVID-19

On Oct. 22, 2020, my wife and I started having COVID-19 symptoms. As a result, we haven’t been able to work with our staff and photographers with news.

It’s the reason why we missed two recent newscasts that we regularly do each week.

On Oct. 27, 2020, we tested positive at the COVID-19 testing site (Barber Sports Complex) in Sebastian.

At this time, no other staff member has contracted the virus.

Some of our symptoms are completely different. We both have aches & pains, diarrhea, headaches, fatigue, chills, and dizziness. However, my wife has no sense of taste.

My wife and I both have asthma, but our breathing has been very good.

We will remain in quarantine until at least Nov. 2, 2020, as long as we don’t have any COVID-19 symptoms, according to the county health department.

Some researchers suggest that COVID-19 is mutating, which is causing different symptoms than when the pandemic started. Also, the number of deaths has greatly fallen in Florida. You can see that information on the state health department’s site.

Most of the time, we took all the necessary precautions such as wearing a mask, social distancing, and washing our hands. However, there were times we got too comfortable and didn’t wear a mask.

The pandemic is real, and it’s not going to be over anytime soon.

I can be thankful that we are not on a ventilator, as our symptoms could be much worse.

Here is a list of COVID-19 testing sites in Sebastian.

We plan to write about this experience in an article that could help others. Once we start feeling better, we will resume the news.

Our apologies for any inconvenience.
