It’s becoming more common that someone knows at least one person who has contracted COVID-19 in Sebastian, Florida.

The number of positive COVID-19 cases are still climbing in our area. The coronavirus is still a serious pandemic in Florida and should be taken seriously.

However, there are more than 200 ICU beds available in Florida according to Friday’s numbers, bringing the total to 1,271.

About 2,027,493 people have tested negative for COVID-19 in Florida.

While the number of deaths have remained very low in Indian River County and Brevard County, there was one new coronavirus related death last week. Unfortunately, the health department will no longer provide us details about the patient’s ages.

Please wear a mask when in stores, wash your hands regularly, and practice social distancing.
