There are now 159 COVID-19 cases in Sebastian, Florida. The area soared to approximately twenty new cases in just two days. Since Friday, about 87 more people were admitted to the hospital with coronavirus symptoms in Indian River County.

The number of deaths this week in Florida rose to 701, indicating that the number of deaths are slowly rising in the state. Florida reported 12,523 new COVID-19 cases for Saturday. State health officials say they tested 115,149 people.

Overall, our local area is still doing better than most cities and counties. But please wear a mask at all times when you can’t social distance or in stores.

Data from the state health department shows that most people between ages 25 to 34 years old are now contracting the virus.

There are now 1,249 ICU beds available in Florida.

We need to come together as a community and wear masks, wash hands regularly, and practice social distancing to prevent another Florida shut down. We ask everyone to help so that we can stop the spread of COVID-19.

COVID-19 is a conspiracy theory until someone they know catches the virus. This virus is not like the flu or pneumonia. There is no vaccine for it. Please, let’s get serious.
