COVID-19 update for Sebastian, Florida.

Overnight, the Florida Department of Health reported 39 more positive coronavirus cases in the state, bringing the total number to 115.

As of 11:00 am Sunday, there are no reported or confirmed cases of coronavirus in Sebastian, Indian River County, or Brevard County. Most of the cases remain in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

There was one death yesterday in Florida; it was a 77-year old male in Lee County.

Nearby, there is 1 case in Osceola, 2 cases in Orange, 1 case in Seminole, and 5 cases in Volusia.

According to the CDC, there are approximately 157,000 cases worldwide and 5,800 deaths. Nearly 74,000 people have recovered from COVID-19.

All schools in Indian River County and Brevard County are closed until the end of the month.

The Sebastian ShrimpFest, scheduled for next weekend at Riverview Park, has been postponed. We are in direct contact with the event organizer and will update everyone on what they plan to do going forward.
