Indian River County Issues Local State of Emergency Amid Rising COVID-19 Numbers

Indian River County Administrator Jason E. Brown has determined that a disaster has occurred amid the rising COVID-19 numbers and has declared a local state of emergency as of 7:00 a.m. on August 13, 2021.

However, the declaration pertains to staffing and procurement services and does not directly impact individuals or businesses in Indian River County.

“We are continuing to monitor the impacts of COVID-19 in our community and will inform you of any further updates to our policies as necessary,” Kathleen Keenan, Legislative Affairs and Communications Manager of Indian River County,” told Sebastian Daily.

Florida has more COVID-19 cases than 30 states with the lowest number of cases. 

There are no mask mandates in the City of Sebastian or Indian River County at this time.
