Effective March 17, 2020 at 8:00 a.m., Indian River County has declared a local state of emergency.

There are no reported or confirmed cases of coronavirus in Sebastian or Indian River County at this time. There is 1 coronavirus case in Brevard County.

The state of emergency in Indian River County is only an administrative measure to allow for additional purchasing capability as needed and to allow for certain orders going forward if deemed necessary.

County offices and facilities are open and observing regularly scheduled hours.

The local state of emergency does not impact voting in today’s election and polling places are observing their usual hours. The Supervisor of Elections is taking extraordinary steps to keep polling places clean to prevent transmission of viruses.
