The City of Sebastian, along with other organizations and businesses, have always done a great job of putting on a spectacular 4th of July Celebration and events for our small town, and this year should be no different.
Here is a rundown of Parades, 5k’s Races, Celebrations, and Fireworks in our surrounding area on July 4th.
Independence Day Celebration (Barefoot Bay)
Barefoot Bay will be having their Independence Day Celebration on June 30, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Pool #1. The grill will open at 12:00 p.m., and a DJ will perform. Additionally, TC & Sass will perform Lakeside 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., and Fireworks will begin at 9:00 p.m.
Must have a BFB Resident Pass or Guest Pass to attend either of these events.
Freedom Run 5K – To Benefit The Substance Awareness Center
The Freedom Run Sunrise 5k race at Riverview Park in Sebastian will be before the Sebastian 4th of July parade begins. The Freedom Run benefits all the programs offered at The Substance Awareness Center including Botvin LifeSkills Training prevention program taught in all middle and elementary schools, treatment and recovery support programs.
The Race Fee is $25.00 per person + a $3.00 SignUp Fee. Registration for this 5k will end July 2, 2019, at 2:59 p.m.
To register, go to their signup page and fill out the form. Participants can pick up their race packets on July 3, 2019, at Runner’s Depot from 10:00 a.m. – 5 p.m. or the morning of the race at the event site starting at 6:30 a.m.
Sebastian’s Freedom Festival
The City of Sebastian will have their 47th Annual 4th of July Parade on Thursday, July 4, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. The parade will begin at the Sebastian Community Center and the Sebastian Masonic Lodge and proceed East on Davis Street and South on Indian River Drive to Riverview Park.
Following the parade, there will be festivities at Riverview Park from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. They will have live entertainment, food, craft booths, vendors, and much more. Fireworks will begin at dusk.
July 4th Golf Cart & Character Parade – Barefoot Bay
Barefoot Bay will be hosting a July 4th Golf Cart & Character Parade at 1:30 p.m. beginning at Veteran’s Way. Participants should be there no later than 1:00 p.m. The prizes for the most patriotic cart will be Barefoot Bay Food & Beverage Gift Certificates: $100 Gift Certificate 1st Place, $50 Gift Certificate 2nd Place, $25 Gift Certificate 3rd Place.
There will also be a dress-up contest. Dress up as either Uncle Sam or Rosie The Riveter for a chance to win a $50 Gift Certificate.
Earl’s Hideaway Lounge Huge July 4th Concert
Earl’s Hideaway Lounge will be getting their Fourth of July Celebration started Wednesday evening with Hypersona starting at 8:30 p.m. Then, on July 4th, all the way from New Orleans, Wild Child Jason Ricci & the Bad Kind will perform from 5:00 p.m. until the Fireworks start at 9 p.m.
All-American Party – Captain Hirams Resort
Capt Hirams Resort will be having an All-American Party from 7:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. on the sandbar. There will be live music from Americana Treasures – The Best of Mellencamp & Petty from 7:30 p.m. – the 10:30 p.m. with a break around 9 p.m. for the City of Sebastian’s firework show.
Drink specials will include $4 Landshark Lager, $6 POP Fusions, and $6 Landlubbers or grab an all American meal with $6 Hot Dogs or $8 Cheeseburgers, and each served with baked beans and potato salad.
Rosie’s Bottoms Up Fourth of July Celebration with Fireworks
Rosie’s Bottoms Up, in Micco, will be having a Fourth of July Celebration with a large display of fireworks that will begin around 9:30 p.m.
They will be serving up cotton candy, popcorn, and hot dogs for the kids. Feel free to bring chairs and get there early as it is a popular event.
