VERO BEACH – The Indian River County Fire Fighters (IAFF Local 2201) will host the First Annual Fire Truck Pull for St. Baldrick’s to benefit childhood cancer research.

The event will take place at the Walking Tree Brewery in Vero Beach on Saturday, Dec. 17th from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. It’s located at 3209 Dodger Road in Vero Beach.

The Fire Truck Pull is certainly the main event but there will also be food trucks, family fun and live music by local band Nightfly.

“Indian River County fire fighters and paramedics have been extremely supportive of St. Baldrick’s since our first signature shave event 4 years ago” said Volunteer Event Organizer Missy Elward. “This is yet another example of their amazing commitment to our community.”

All of the monies generated from the Fire Truck Pull will be donated to Indian River County St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

IRC Fire Fighters have invited 25,000 members of the Florida Professional Fire Fighters to join in the event. Several local gyms will also be represented and there certainly will be surprise teams from other Indian River County first responders.

It’s not too late to register your team or you can register as an individual to be placed on a team.

“Walking Tree Brewery has created a special cask aged live ale version of our Prop Root English Pale ale dry hopped with Golding hops,” said Walking Tree’s Danny Rey.

All of the proceeds from this special brew will be donated to IRC’s St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

St. Baldrick’s is a volunteer-driven foundation which raises money to provide childhood cancer research grants. Since 2005, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation has awarded more than $200 million to support lifesaving research grants.
