VERO BEACH – Free flu vaccinations are being offered Saturday in Vero Beach for residents who are uninsured or underinsured at the Indian River County Health Department Main Clinic.

The free flu shots will be on Saturday, Feb. 3rd from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. as walk-ins only.

The address for the main clinic is 1900 27th Street, Vero Beach.

It’s not too late to get vaccinated, health officials say. It is the best way to prevent illness.

A parent or qualifying family member must accompany children.

The CDC recommends use of injectable influenza vaccines (including inactivated influenza vaccines and recombinant influenza vaccines) during the 2017-2018 season.

The “flu shot” is an inactivated vaccine (containing killed virus) that is given with a needle, usually in the arm. The flu shot is approved for use in people older than 6 months, including healthy people and people with chronic medical conditions.
