The 17th Annual Sebastian Clambake Lagoon Festival will take place Nov. 8 – 10, 2019, at Riverview Park in Sebastian.
Since the first festival in 2002, the Sebastian Clambake has raised over $675K for local non-profit capital projects.
Organized by the Sebastian Clambake Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization, the Clambake has grown in success each year, and organizers are hoping for an even more amazing turnout in 2019.
“The Clambake is such an accomplishment every year,” said Clambake Foundation member Pat Riviezzo. “The community loves it, it’s family-oriented and has fresh seafood, great music, stuff for the kids, and it’ sits raising money that in turn helps out the community. It’s a win-win. A lot of work goes into it, but a lot of good comes from it.”
Sponsors of the event this year include J.J. Taylor Distributing Florida, Inc. (Treasure Coast), the City of Sebastian, and Re/Max Crown Realty.
The historic annual festival celebrates the city’s way of life along the Indian River Lagoon, which is a major foundation of resources for folks in Indian River County, whether it be recreation, sightseeing, or provision of food in the local restaurant industry.
There will be live music from local bands, historical reenactments, fresh seafood booths, craft beer tastings, and many vendors showcasing arts and crafts. Pareidolia Brewing Company will feature two special craft brews made especially for the festival.
Clam chowder, fried clams, crab cakes, shrimp, fried fish, steamed clams, sausage, onions, and pepper sandwiches, hot dogs, pizza, and linguine are among the variety of food available for purchase.
“ClamaJama IPA” and “Digger’s Golden Ale” are the specialty craft brews that will be available for purchase at the event by Pareidolia Brewery. Other cold draft beers will be available as well, along with soda, root beer, and other non-alcoholic options.
Admission is free, and tickets will be available for the purchase of food, drinks, and t-shirts.
The Clambake will offer a Kid’s Zone that will have games, face-painting, balloon animals, and hands-on projects by local businesses.
The beneficiaries for this year include Economic Opportunities Council, Sebastian Soccer Association, Roseland Ecumenical Food Pantry, Sebastian River High School Rowing Club, St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Kashi, and Treasure Coast Rugby Foundation.
The allocation for Program Grants will be shared between the Ecumenical Food Pantry, GFWC Sebastian Junior Woman’s Club’s Science Camp, SUMC Music Camp, The River Fund, Sebastian River High School’s Chum Bucket, the Prasad Program, and SOS Cookies.
