VERO BEACH – A 24-year-old woman claims she was drugged at JJ’s Sports Bar and Grille, located inside the Vero Beach Inn and Suites, according to police.

Jessica Marie Seiders, of Sebastian, called the bar and told the manager she was drugged. The manager then called the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office to report the incident.

Seiders said she was celebrating her birthday last Wednesday when she became very ill.

“Seiders said she became really sick after visiting the bar for her birthday,” the deputy said. “Seiders stated she was probably drugged while she was at the bar and asked for the surveillance footage.”

Seiders told deputies that she had three tequila shots and a bottle of beer. She was at the bar with her friends for approximately two hours.

“She became so sick her boyfriend had to carry her out of the bar. She began to vomit and continued vomiting profusely until the following day,” the report said.

Seiders thought it was odd so she did a drug test and it came back positive for amphetamine. Amphetamine (Adderall) stimulates the central nervous system.

Deputies are reviewing the surveillance footage and the case is under investigation.
