On Monday, December 6, 2021, at approximately 11:20 p.m., a resident called the Sebastian Police Department in reference to a man jumping on the hood of her vehicle in her driveway, reports show.

According to the affidavit, the resident told officers that she and her husband were in their home when they spotted a man standing inside their front porch area. When the wife asked the subject to leave, the man “started screaming obscenities” and ran to their vehicle, where he began “jumping up and down” on the hood.

“As I was arriving on scene, I observed a male matching the description running towards my vehicle, later identified as Ernest Pellicciotti. I activated my overhead lights, exited my patrol vehicle, and issued loud, clear verbal commands to get on the ground,” the officer said.

Pellicciotti, 26, would not comply and balled up his fists as if he was going to commit a physical battery. After several loud commands to comply, the officer took Pellicciotti to the ground and handcuffed him. During this time, Pellicciotti kicked the officer multiple times.

The husband told officers that while Pellicciotti was jumping on his car, he stepped outside, and Pellicciotti attempted to strike him multiple times.

Pellicciotti was charged with Disorderly Intoxication, Resisting Arrest, Assault, and Assault of a Law Enforcement Officer. He was transported to the Indian River County Jail, where his bond was set at $2,000.
