A man seen smoking from what was described as a “crack pipe” on one of the Twin Piers at Riverview Park told police that he was only “enjoying his freedom.”
On Sunday, at approximately 2:31 pm, a couple of parkgoers observed the man smoking out of a “glass pipe” on the north dock. The Sebastian man was later identified as Ryan Brown, 39.
While talking with Brown, the responding officer observed a bag strapped to him. A search of the bag yielded a small blue box containing a white crystal-like substance, which field-tested positive for Amphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
Brown was charged with Resisting Arrest Without Violence, Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
He was transported to the Indian River County Jail, where his bond was set at $6,000.
