Indian River County Sheriff's Office

The sheriff’s office says several people are the latest victims of a scam after receiving calls or visits from people posing as bank representatives.

The individuals will tell their victims that your debit card needs to be replaced. They are advised to hand the card over or place it in their mailbox for pickup.

Banks will never send a representative out to your house or ask you to put your debit card in the mailbox.

This is the latest scam uncovered by the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

Call the police if anyone stops by your resident to take your debit card.
