2 Injured After Shots Fired Inside Earl’s Hideaway In Sebastain

A man opened fire at Sebastian Police at Earl's Hideaway in Sebastian Monday night.

SEBASTIAN – On Monday night at approximately 10:20 p.m., the Sebastian Police Department received information of a suspect wanted on a warrant at Earl’s Hideaway at 1405 Indian River Drive.

Several officers approached the wanted subject inside Earl’s Hideaway who presented a firearm. Several gunshots were fired wounding the suspect and one officer. Both the officer and suspect were treated at the scene and transported for emergency care at the hospital

“The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is conducting the independent review of the shooting incident with the assistance of Indian River County Sheriff’s Office crime scene. The subject is currently in custody under criminal charges for an existing warrant for a violation of probation from a previous violent crime,” Police Commander John Blackledge told Sebastian Daily.

The names of the subject and the officer are not being released at this time. The officer’s and suspects injuries appeared to be non life-threatening.

The officer was shot in the leg and is currently in surgery.

A witness told Sebastian Daily that they saw the Sebastian police officer being carried into the ambulance. They also saw EMT supplies on the pool tables.

Another witness told us that a 3rd person was shot, but police would not comment.

Sebastian Daily is still on the scene and gathering information.
