World Teachers’ Day will be on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, to honor teachers and teacher organizations contributing to educating our future leaders.

Think about which teachers made an impact on your life growing up. Maybe they encouraged you to step out of your comfort zone, took extra time to help you understand your school work, or helped you feel accepted by your classmates.

Teachers wear many hats these days. Yes, their jobs are to educate students, but they are also coaches, and counselors. They may even be guardian angels to some students.

Nowadays, educators have to deal with more complex situations, such as a lack of resources, disruptive environments, and limited time frames. And with the growing number of students in classes, it can be difficult to provide individual attention.

So, please show your appreciation to our local teachers on World Teachers’ Day.

Ways of Showing your Appreciation

World Teacher’s Day History

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization proclaimed October 5th to be World Teachers’ Day in 1994.

They chose this date because, on October 5, 1966, a significant step was made for teachers at an intergovernmental conference in Paris concerning the Status of Teacher’s rights.
