Vance Lee Continues Bicycle Journey from Sebastian to Las Vegas

Vance Lee

Vance Lee, country music artist and campaigner for good, has been on the road for over a week now. He has been braving storm after storm with only one clear day since beginning his solo bicycle journey for charity on July 29th.

He has traveled over 150 miles so far, and his sodden expedition has brought him up the coast of Eastern Florida from Sebastian to Ormond Beach.

On August 3rd he began traveling inland through forested routes, reaching Barberville and Altoona. He is enjoying genuine southern hospitality in Florida’s interior and has met dozens of interesting and supportive people along the way. The roads have been dangerous, but he has found the traffic there to be more courteous as he has moved further inland.

The thick forests have provided a welcome change of pace and much-needed shade. Lee hasn’t encountered any Florida black bears during his journey through the state so far. Nor has he seen the elusive Skunk Ape, Florida’s “Big Foot” that is said to roam the Everglades and beyond. He has, however, taken the chance to enjoy a refreshing swim in a clear, spring-fed lake.

Lee arrived in Weirsdale, Florida a few days before his first official performance, which was at Pirat’s Oasis in Weirsdale on Saturday, August 10th. Due to his ambitious nature, he is continuing toward Taveres and will return to Weirsdale before his scheduled performance.

Lee’s spirits are high, and his body is adapting well to life on the road. He is greatly appreciative of all of the interest he has received in his journey so far. He is excited about his performance and to see the change that he and his supporters will be able to make across the globe with Change the World of One.

This week he is asking his supporters to help with his cause by contributing to a dollar campaign to benefit Change the World of One’s “Tin Can Dreams: Goats for Youth Development. The project is providing a goat husbandry workshop and goats to orphans in Mumslove Orphanage in Duayaw Nkwanta, Ghana, West Africa.
