Senior Resource Association (SRA) is asking for community help to spread holiday cheer to more than 1,000 seniors this season. The Santa for Seniors annual gift drive delivers a holiday gift to Indian River County (IRC) seniors who depend on SRA’s programs to remain in their own homes as long as safely possible.

“Our annual Santa for Seniors gift drive is a simple way to provide a much-needed sense of connection while bringing joy to our community’s isolated and homebound seniors – because so many have no family or friends to share the holidays with,” says Karen Deigl, SRA President and CEO.

The Santa for Seniors wish list contains items such as weighted blankets, flatware sets, electric can openers, and many other specially requested senior gift ideas. For the health and safety of our seniors, gifts must be new, unwrapped, and in their original packaging. SRA is unable to accept handmade or perishable items.

Over the years, Santa for Seniors has delivered thousands of gifts to older adults in our community. The annual drive would not be possible without the commitment from their generous sponsors, Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital and Florida Power & Light, as well as the Senior Resource Association’s dedicated staff and volunteers who rally the community to collect, sort, and package all the gifts.

“Without the support and generosity of local businesses, organizations, individuals, and our amazing volunteers, we could not share holiday joy so broadly to impact the lives of seniors in our community,” Deigl adds.

Donations can be dropped off at the following SRA locations from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm:

The deadline for donations is Friday, December 8, 2023. Gifts will be delivered by December 24, 2023.
