The Rotary Club of Sebastian and the Exchange Club of Fellsmere raised over $70,000 for youth sports and organizations throughout North Indian River County over the last 2 years.

“We gave over $70,000 away for 2020 and 2021 to the beneficiaries, clubs, and organizations. Without your help, this event would not have survived the last year and been able to help the community, Marc Gingras Chairperson of the ShrimpFest & Craft Brew Hullabaloo told Sebastian Daily.

The ShrimpFest and Craft Brew Hullabaloo was held last March at Riverview Park in Sebastian.

Last year, due to the Covid stay-at-home order, the festival was canceled a week before the event. Even with that, the local organizations were able to help the area with $15,000 to the beneficiaries and clubs.

In 2021 they were able to raise $60,000+/- and gave back to the community $55,100, which benefited eight sports clubs, the Sebastian Rotary club activities, and the Fellsmere exchange clubs’ activities.

“Now that we have six years under our belt and with the city’s support, we have given away $244,656 in awards and have $34,500 in the bank for the future. We have raised almost $280,000 in 6 years. Without question, this helps to make this festival fun and entertaining as well as raising money for our community, Gingras added.
