A mother and daughter team from Sebastian will compete in the Our Little Miss pageant in Baton Rouge in July. They will be representing Sebastian and the State of Florida.
The system’s motto, “It’s Nice To Be Important, But It’s More Important To Be Nice,” is what everyone seems to be working on after being on Covid restrictions. Another focus of OLM is family participation, especially in the form of community service.
Keema, 46, and Teagan, 9, will attend a week-long pageant that showcases girls and women from across the country in beauty and talent, modeling, family pageantry, and round table events to discuss social issues.
Teagan, a member of Katwalk Models, will be a 4th grader at Pelican Island Elementary in August, and her mother Kemma will be teaching language arts in 5th grade at the same school.
Both were crowned Florida state queens in Tallahassee in May. Since October, Teagan has been competing in pageants, and she talked her mother into doing the state pageant with her in the hopes of being “sister queens.”

Teagan, a spokesmodel for Marc DeFang, is passionate about animal rescue and will tell you that she wants to work at HALO No-Kill Rescue when she grows up. She says, “So many people can’t take care of their animals because they have to go to work and school, so I want to help them find good homes.” Her platform will be mentoring local young girls to learn about conflict resolution, positive body image, and forming healthy friendships.
In addition, she would like to bring more focus to the area Audubon society so students and adults alike will be more knowledgeable about our local wildlife and water systems.
Keema
Keema, a former professional bodybuilder and Lady Vegas 2015, was intrigued and figured, “why not?!”
“It’s a great opportunity to put my heels to good use and help Teagan through the entire process,” Keema told Sebastian Daily.
It paid off, and both received the coveted round crowns and turquoise robes of Southeast Our Little Miss, the chapter of Our Little Miss, Inc., based in Yulee, Florida, and run by Brittany and Andrew Davis.
Everyone hopes to become the newest member of “The Red Poof Society,” which is the term used to describe the winning crown at the Official World pageant.
