SEBASTIAN – A skydiver at the Sebastian Municipal Airport was rushed to a hospital Monday after making a hard landing, the Sebastian Police Department said.

Lt. Timothy Wood told Sebastian Daily that the skydiver was a “male in his early 60s” who “landed hard” and was transported to a local hospital by EMS.

Rescue crews responded Monday afternoon to the landing zone at Skydive Sebastian, located at 400 Airport Drive West, about the skydiving accident.

The man’s condition is unknown. Witnesses say there was a group of skydivers all going at once.

Skydive Sebastian wasn’t available for comment.

Last year, a Sebastian Skydiver was found stuck in a tree after missing the drop zone at the airport. He was found in the branches of a 20-foot tree at Donald McDonald Park on Roseland Road.
