The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is offering its Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D) course for women from Monday, June 5th to Thursday, June 8th, from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm at IRC Intergenerational Recreation Center.
The course is 12 hours total and includes lectures, physical defense, and simulation exercises. Students must attend all sessions.
It is recommended for ages 13 and up. Minors must be accompanied by their legal guardian.
Students must wear tennis shoes or sneakers, pants, and a shirt every day of class. No jewelry, flip-flops, or dresses will be allowed.
I took this course a couple of years back, and I highly recommend it.
