The property owner next to Walmart has given a 10-day notice for a homeless camp to vacate, and another camp located on FEC property near the railroad tracks was evicted, according to the Sebastian Police Department.

“The owner of the property has asked them to leave,” Lt. Timothy Woods told Sebastian Daily.

As officers were giving the camp a 10-day notice to vacate, they discovered the person on FEC property attempting to establish residency.

“One of the individuals was on FEC property and moved out that day. Those not on FEC property were given 10 days to vacate,” Woods said.

The homeless camp is situated near the south entrance of Walmart, behind the new Dollar Tree store.

UPDATE: The Sebastian Police Department’s COPE unit provided the homeless with water and offered assistance with moving them to a homeless shelter and provided them with information on the other local shelters. A pastor from a local church was also present and offered their assistance.
