H.A.L.O. No-Kill Rescue will host its annual “Clear the Shelters” event during the month of August. They’re happy to share that they won’t charge adoption fees for pets older than a year in August. And if you adopt a kitten, you get a second one for free throughout the month.

You may have heard that animal shelters across the country are at capacity, and many are overcrowded. That’s why “Clear the Shelters” is more critical than ever.

What is Clear the Shelters?

Every year, NBCUniversal Local and hundreds of shelters nationwide work together in August. They help pets find homes and collect donations. This has been happening since 2015; since then, over 860,000 pets have found families who love them. Last year, H.A.L.O. helped 173 pets find homes, and they hope to help even more this year.
