Golfing Event Raises $5K for Domestic Violence Survivors

Golfing for Success

Last Saturday, a golf tournament called “Golfing for Success” raised more than $5,000. All proceeds will cover moving services for survivors of domestic violence and families leaving local shelters.

The tournament was hosted at Vista Plantation, where participants got to play golf, have lunch, and win prizes. Each player paid $100 per game. Teams had up to four players each.

Some important people from our town were also there, including Indian River County Sheriff Eric Flowers, Sebastian Mayor Fred Jones, County Commissioner Laura Moss, County School Board Chair Doc Jones, and Vice Chair Teri Barenborg.

Michael Marsh from the non-profit group TeamSuccess Enterprises Inc organized this golf event.

“We had our first Golfing for Success,” Marsh said. “And it was really successful! A big thanks to our friends at Vista Plantation!”
