VERO BEACH – The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) will be hosting an opportunity for community members to create greeting cards for VNA Hospice patients who are veterans.
This Vero Beach event is in conjunction with Family Volunteer Day, a global day of service that celebrates the power of families who work together to support their communities and neighborhoods.
The VNA will have tables set up with crafts and all the card-making supplies at Hidden Treasures Vero Beach (656 21st Street, Vero Beach) and Hidden Treasures Sebastian (11646 US Hwy 1, Sebastian) from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
The VNA is a member of the We Honor Veterans program, a pioneering campaign developed by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Veterans in the care of VNA Hospice receive a special pinning ceremony, thanking and acknowledging their service and duty.
The greeting cards that are created during the Family Volunteer Day event at the Hidden Treasures thrift stores will be incorporated into the pinning ceremony.
The VNA is the only non-profit home care and hospice provider in Indian River County.
