The Varsity Football Team of Sebastian River High School, accompanied by their coaches, was honored with a proclamation on Wednesday evening during the Sebastian City Council meeting to recognize their victory in the Sunshine State Athletic Association Championship.

The Sunshine State Athletic Association (SSAA) is an organization dedicated to high school athletics, encompassing a network of schools throughout Florida. It emphasizes sportsmanship, fairness, and equal opportunities for its student-athletes.

Beginning in 2008 with a single sport, the SSAA has expanded significantly, now offering a diverse range of sports, including Varsity Football (both 11-man and 8-man), Baseball, Softball, Golf, Cross Country, Indoor Volleyball, Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball, Girls Beach Volleyball, Boys and Girls Varsity Soccer, E-Sports, and Track (starting in 2024).

Here are some photos of the team’s proclamation during the Sebastian City Council meeting.
