When Sebastian resident Debby Rawdanowicz noticed a baby owl on the ground after it fell out of its nest, she was worried about its safety. It’s an incident that doesn’t happen often, but when it does, time is of the essence for the rescue.
She contacted Kim and Jim from Wild Florida Rescue. In addition, a tree climber named Josh Smith from JRs Tree Service also volunteered to help save the baby owl.
“Not knowing what to do with it and afraid the wildlife would get it before we could get it back in its nest, we called the Wildlife Rescue line,” Rawdanowicz told Sebastian Daily.
She said they were a big help and responded to her home immediately.

“It was such a nice experience with everyone involved,” said Rawdanowicz.

Wild Florida Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit that helps in wildlife transportation and rescue. Unfortunately, due to the ever-increasing population and urbanization in Florida, conflicts between people and wildlife are inevitable and commonplace.
