The American Legion Riders from Post 189 were able to present the Sebastian Elementary Drum Line a check for $3,700. In March, the riders held a Poker Run to benefit the elementary school so that they could purchase equipment.

“It was a beautiful day that started with a performance by the Drum Line before the Poker Run began. These boys & girls did a wonderful job playing, and I cannot wait to see them marching in the parades next year,” American Legion Riders John Rubino told Sebastian Daily.

The day was a success due to the support of many local businesses that did not hesitate to support these children.

“It was such a great time having the opportunity for the veterans & the children to talk about life. Also, the children were huge fans of our motorcycles, to say the least,” Rubino said.

“Mr. Hudson, the SES Drum Line instructor who worked so hard for these kids this year, the principal Ms. Hart & most of all, the children were so thankful for everything the American Legion Post 189 Riders did for them,” Rubino added.
