A few important issues are being brought to the Sebastian City Council this week for approval.

First, there’s an FAA Airport Rescue Grant for use at the Sebastian Municipal Airport for $32,000. The funds will be used for airport improvements, repairs, and maintenance if approved.

A proposal for four high-definition airport security cameras from ADS Security for $28,963. Many residents were surprised to learn that there weren’t already cameras at the airport and hangars to protect City and private business assets. While a few say, there’s no need to install cameras and security equipment.

Another item for approval is a Comcast Contract for connecting and providing Internet Service to the New Public Works Compound for $71,739.

Approve one 2021 Ford Explorer Interceptor Hybrid from Bartow Ford in the amount of $60,337 for the Sebastian Police Department.

There will also be a discussion about the Engineer Review of the Crab E Bills structure at Fisherman’s Landing. The City Council is expected to provide direction on how to proceed.

The Sebastian City Council meeting will be on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. inside the Chambers located at 1225 Main Street in Sebastian.
