SEBASTIAN – The Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce has a new president who will replace Beth Mitchell on January 1, 2019. Mitchell retired this month after serving more than 18 years.

Amber Batchelor, from Reston, Virginia, has been named president. Batchelor has been a chamber executive with the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce.

Batchelor holds a bachelor’s degree in business Administration from Saint Augustine University, North Carolina.

The Chamber’s Selection Committee, comprised of Chamber members and business leaders in the community, received over sixty resumes from qualified candidates.

Batchelor was chosen because of her Chamber experience and leadership skills. Some of her chamber experience includes event management, budgeting, and finance.

She has an extensive background working with the Visitor and Relocation Center at the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

Bob Morgan stated that the Chamber was very excited with Amber’s appointment because her background will bring positive new initiatives to the Chamber while complimenting the established programs and services offered to the business members and organization.

The Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce is a member-driven business organization supporting businesses, promoting tourism and contributing to the quality of life in the area. The Sebastian River Area Chamber is celebrating its sixtieth anniversary in 2018.

The Chamber is planning a “meet and greet” with Batchelor on January 10, at the Pelican Porch Visitor Center and Chamber offices.
