Sears, an anchor store at the Indian River Mall, is expected to close in late October of 2019 as the retail company closes more than 20 more stores.
Sears Holdings Corporation is expected to begin liquidation sales before the October closure.
A Sears spokesperson told Sebastian Daily that the Sears Auto Center would be closing in August.

Sears decided to do away with their Vero Beach location after facing several challenges and what they call a “generally weak” retail environment.
The company is expected to accelerate the expansion of smaller store formats, which include their Home & Life and Sears Hometown brands.
